If the most senior and higher payed teachers are encouraged to retire the cost of education will drop. Now you don't need to be real smart to figure that one out. So lets do it, Pass HB 4486, and cut the price of education for once and for all.

Where will the funding come from to support this change in the retirement formula? Since none of this has been pre-funded, the strain placed on the system will go directly back to local districts. This is bad legislation. This should not be approved.

Local districts should be responsible for enhancing the retirement packages for their employees. To offer this for every teacher in the state will affect every loacal district, regardless of whether or not any of their teachers retire. Early retirement incentives are often utilized by school districts to help them better manage their cash flow. Why not leave it up to the local districts, which is where these decisions belong?

    Little guy

Not everyone in school districts are teachers making an average salary of 49,000,a lot of the employees are support staff earning far less. The 1.75% would help those that are not making the high salaries retire with larger pensions and open up more positions within the districts. Let's think about the less fortunate people in the districts that work just as hard as teachers
