    2002 House Bill 5734

Introduced in the House on February 21, 2002, to change the way that diesel fuel tax is collected so that the entire amount is collected at the pump just like the gasoline tax. Currently, nine-cents is collected at the pump, and six-cents-per-dollar sales tax is collected on those fuel purchases as well. Another 12-cents is collected in quarterly payments mailed into the state, less a six-cents per gallon credit against the sales tax paid at the pump, making the net diesel fuel tax 15-cents a gallon

The vote was 80 in favor, 15 opposed and 15 not voting

(House Roll Call 1117 at House Journal 69)
