Gov. Granholm State of the State Energy Proposals

No doubt about it, Granholm is the BEST Governor MI has had in decades !!!

yeah... she got us the BEST unemployment rate in the nation.

she got us the BEST TAXES.

she got us rid of the BEST BUSINESSES IN THE COUNTRY.

she emptied the state of workers pretty effectively too.

she's keeping the best and the brightest from moving to michigan by taxing businesses billions of dollars.

yeah.. she's the BEST... NOT...

i thought that providing energy efficient housing was the JOB OF THE GOVERNMENT, not the job of the private sector.

why is the government NOW trying to drop the ball and FORCE private businesses to pick it up for them?

isn't UNIVERSALLY ENERGY EFFICIENT HOMES just as important a government program as UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE?

the left seems against private sector involvement, why the rush to it now?

If I'm not mistaken the utilities do buy back 10% of the energy produced by a residential or independent person who is on the grid and has the proper equipment.

Many states have gone beyond the minimum requirements of the federal law by allowing net metering for customers with PV systems. With net metering, the customer's electric meter will run backward when the solar electric system produces more power than is needed to operate the home or business at that time. An approved, utility-grade inverter converts the dc power from the PV modules into ac power that exactly matches the voltage and frequency of the electricity flowing in the utility line; the system must also meet the utility's safety and power-quality requirements. The excess electricity is then fed into the utility grid and sold to the utility at the retail rate.

All that is needed for people to improve their energy efficiency is an energy audit and a source of financing to make improvements that will appreciate the value of their homes and the comfort of their current living.  We do not need laws establishing bureaucracies to do this.

yea and we citizen got a 150% increase in our DTE -BILL since jan 2008 ..every months on the frontof the bill STATES we (DTE) has saved you(me) $3,34 cents plus more...But it surely doesnot "COUNT" when it come to my bill! THAT 150% iNCRESE since jan 2008 DELIVERY CHARGE fixed $ 6.00 each months then rate change in april, june, july Sept another Fixed amount $ 3.00 for SERVICEcharge..etc.etc. Nov. 2009 MPSC notefid the DTE to return $ 23, Million back to there customers.has any one had their   BILL REDUCED? really like to know!
