Passed 38 to 0 in the Senate on June 19, 2013, to waive state park and campground admission fees for disabled veterans, or ones who were prisoners of war, or who were awarded the Medal of Honor. Specifically, the bill grants these veterans the vehicle registration “recreation passport” without the $11 charge. The foregone revenue would have to be paid to the parks from general fund tax revenues.

Senate Roll Call 288 on 2013 House Bill 4297
I really appreciate this bill being introduced, as a service connected Vietnam vet I know it would allow my wife and I to enjoy more than the 1 camping trip we can enjoy currently. One my issues is ptsd and when I can spend time outdoors , its a "relief"....and I know there are many younger disabled veterans that have young children but like me, who can only afford to take "a" camping trip. This should apply to any service connected veteran from ANY STATE.....
