

2012 Senate Bill 990: Allow lower principle residence tax for assisted living residents (Senate Roll Call 421)
Passed 36 to 0 in the Senate on May 31, 2012, to allow an individual who moves into an assisted living facility to retain the principal residence property tax exemption on his or her own residence. Also, to clarify that property contiguous to a homestead still gets the principle residence tax exemption even if it is in another tax jurisdiction.
