2011 Senate Bill 556: Create new government corporate subsidy program (House Roll Call 513)
Passed 95 to 11 in the House on November 30, 2011, to create a new government program to give subsidies to particular businesses selected by political appointees and certain state agency officials. This one would be called the “Michigan business development program.” It would essentially replace the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, and instead deliver some $100 million annually to selected firms in outright cash grants, rather than combinations of tax breaks and cash grants. More of the same crony Capitalism where government picks the winners and losers. Expensive, unfair, foolish, wasteful and arrogant.

No more subsidies of our tax dollars!!! Let the free market determine the winners and losers not a bunch of politicians playing favoritism with no knowledge of what does and does not work. . .

Would this be similar to the Solyndra give-away? You give them millions of dollars and then they contribute to your political campaigns?
