

2011 Senate Bill 495: Increase various vehicle registration taxes and more (Senate Roll Call 345)
Passed 24 to 14 in the Senate on June 22, 2011, to increase various vehicle registration taxes between Oct. 1, 2011 and 2015, and continue diverting around $114 million from various driver-license and vehicle registration fees and surtaxes away from road project funding. Instead, this money is being used to pay Secretary of State administrative expenses. The bill also increases fees and various regulations on commercial motor vehicles and commercial drivers licenses.
