2011 House Bill 4533: Revise new young driver passenger restriction (Senate Roll Call 325)
Passed 38 to 0 in the Senate on June 22, 2011, to revise the new ban on inexperienced young drivers transporting more than one non-family member under age 21 unless the driver’s parent or a "designated" adult is also present. The bill would revise the ban on these drivers driving between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. if they are driving "in the course of employment" (rather than just to or from work), or are going to or from an "authorized activity," meaning school events, some non-school or nonprofit events, or in emergencies.
The whole restriction ought to be repealed.
I agree. More selective elimination of liberty based on the tired "if
it saves one life" argument. Perhaps they should consider outlawing
drivers over 75 years old too.

The whole restriction ought to be repealed. Leave it to the parents to decide if their teenager is mature enough to have passengers in the car and how many.
