Taxes drive people away. Detroit has one of the poorest populations in the nation, yet our 'Republican' senators let the City of Detroit impose additional property taxes, additional income taxes, AND additional utility fees ON THE PEOPLE WHO CAN LEAST AFFORD IT. No wonder 25% of the population has fled Detroit, and our Republican senators drive more nails into the city's coffin.

I think any increase in taxes, whether property taxes, millage, or income taxes should be put on the ballot and decided by the voters. I don't believe the State legislature should have control of local taxes.
