

2009 House Bill 5603: End some “bad driver tax” offenses (House Roll Call 384)
Passed 105 to 0 in the House on September 15, 2010, to revise the vehicle code to conform with the repeal of the "driver responsibility fees" law passed by the House in House Bill 4099. This "bad driver tax" was imposed in 2003 to avoid spending cuts and reforms.

ALL of these "temporary" fees should be repealed immediately. This is a regressive tax that makes criminals out of poor people and collects only half of the fees it imposes.
