2007 House Bill 4384 (FY 2008 Executive Budget “Revenue Enhancements” ) (House Roll Call 107)

Passed in the House (57 to 52) on April 17, 2007, to repeal a property tax exemption on leased residential water softeners, and office and home water coolers. This is one of a number of “tax expenditure repeal” proposals included in Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s Fiscal Year 2007-2008 budget recommendation, which is based on approximately $1 billion in tax increases. It would increase the taxes paid by citizens approximately $500,000.
