Passed in the House (104 to 0) on March 8, 2007, to allow a school board member to be an unpaid volunteer coach or extracurricular activity supervisor in a school district if no other qualified volunteer is available. Current law prohibits a member of a governmental body (including a school board) from also being a paid employee.
