2003 House Bill 5154 (Senate Roll Call 65)

Passed in the Senate (37 to 0) on February 18, 2004, to require schools and day centers to provide parents and guardians with an annual notice regarding pesticide use, and to provide 48 hours advance notice of any pesticide application. Notice would be given by posting a notice in a public area of the school, on the school's website or via electronic mail, telephone call, or sending a notice home with students. Alternatively, individual parents could request that such notices be sent in the mail. The notice must include the location of the application, the name of the pesticide and a toll free number for pesticide information. If a pesticide is applied to protect individuals from an imminent threat from harmful insects (such as a swarming bees), then notice must be provided after the fact. [History, Amendments & Comments]

Could it be that pesticdes are good for our health? Life exectancy is nearly double what it used to be. I see little reason for posting warning signs.
