Introduced by Rep. Alma Smith (D) on June 4, 2009, to require that half the light trucks and all the cars the state purchases after 2009 be “alternative energy” vehicles. There would be a preference that the trucks not be E-85 ethanol burners.

I agree completely!

Michigan has too stop doing things like this.

Will this cost us money like the other alternative energy public act (295). WOW! The market place should dictate when alternative energy is ready, not a politician.
