Richard LeBlanc (D) on January 22, 2009, to establish that henceforth and forever more, the official Scottish tartan of the great state of Michigan shall be the one described by the Scottish hand weavers and textile designers "thread count" denoted by the phrase "BG18* W2 BG8 W2 T8 DG2 T4 DG24 DR4 DG4*," where the symbol "*" denotes 1/2 the total threads at the turning points.

Don't our lawmakers have enough to do without this kind of nonsense? This is a good reason why we need a part-time government. Our economy is in the tank, our unemployement is the highest in the nation, and our public school system is producing high-school drop outs, and the legislature is worried about a Scottish Tartan? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!! Go back to your desks and do something useful....like fixing potholes, fixing the public school system, creating jobs, bringing business BACK to Michigan instead of away.

Is there no "real" work for the legislature? Maybe we should establish an official state "flannel shirt plaid" too. Are you kidding me???
