Introduced by Rep. Leon Drolet (R) on April 28, 2005, to allow state workers with concealed pistol permits (CPLs) to carry a concealed firearm when doing off-site inspections on private property as part of their duties. Under current law, CPL holders doing inspections for the state (such as Family Independence Agency workers making home visits) are not permitted to carry while on duty.

Great if they go to the ccw classes and all the other requirements and pay for it themselves and purchase there own gun. Not the State of Michigan. This will remain an idea.

Given the life threatening environments and situations many citizens are put in during the course of their work, I think it is appropriate to allow them to carry a concealed weapon for their personal protection, assuming they have complied with Michigan's CCW law.

I encourage your support of the Michigan Constitution Art. I, Sec 6: Every person has a right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state.

Why is this law needed? Because someone passed a law that in effect negates Art I, sec 6? Where is an intelligent judge when you need one?
