2016 House Bill 5357

Repeal ban on bearing concealed arms without government permit

Introduced in the House

Feb. 11, 2016

Introduced by Rep. Pete Lucido (R-36)

To repeal a prohibition on carrying a concealed firearm in public unless an individual has a concealed pistol license, unless he or she is barred by state or federal law from possessing a gun. The bill requires someone carrying a gun to disclose this if stopped by police, and authorizes detention while it is confirmed that the individual is not prohibited by law from possessing a gun.
