2016 House Bill 5314

Revise student athlete concussion procedures

Introduced in the House

Feb. 4, 2016

Introduced by Rep. Thomas Hooker (R-77)

To revise a 2013 law that prescribes criteria and procedures for taking a student athlete out of the game due to a suspected concussion. The law also required state officials to develop educational materials related to this danger, and the bill would require these to be updated periodically, and require coaches and other adults in the program to refresh their concussion awareness training at least every three years.
