2015 House Bill 4198

Revise “covenant not to compete” provision in anti-trust law

Introduced in the House

Feb. 13, 2015

Introduced by Rep. Pete Lucido (R-36)

To revise a “covenant not to compete clause” provision in a state antitrust law. Currently, this permits an employer to obtain an agreement from an employee not to go into competition with the company. The bill would convert this into a provision allowing the buyer of a business to obtain a non-compete agreement from the seller.
