2014 House Bill 5936

Ban triclosan handwash

Introduced in the House

Nov. 12, 2014

Introduced by Rep. Jeff Irwin (D-53)

To ban the sale of handwash or other products that contain the antibacterial agent triclosan, unless they have been approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Recent research has found the product makes lab rats more susceptible to chemical-induced liver cancer.
