Regulate police use of license plate scanners

To regulate police use of license plate scanners, which automatically read all license plate numbers and cross-reference them against law enforcement data banks. The bill would establish training and accountability requirements, restrict access to the captured information, restrict use of the captured information to specified law enforcement purposes, require plate numbers to be purged from the system every two hours, and more.
