2014 House Bill 5674: Expand electricity “net metering” mandate
Introduced by Rep. Rob VerHeulen (R) on June 12, 2014 To expand a “net metering” mandate imposed on utilities, which requires them to purchase electricity from customers who generate small amounts, so it would also apply to so-called “community renewable energy gardens,” in which a number of people subscribe to a larger solar or wind facility that sells electricity to the utility and distributes the proceeds to subscribers.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Energy and Technology Committee on June 12, 2014
