To revise a law that prohibits public officials from having various positions that may create a conflict of interest, so as to allow the mayor and a council member of a financially troubled city to be on a financial review commission for their city. This relates to <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/SearchLegislation.aspx?Keywords=Detroit+bankruptcy+settlement+and+grant+package&x=0&y=0">legislation</a> making a $195 million gift of state money to Detroit toward a possible bankruptcy settlement, which created a state oversight panel that includes the mayor and president of the city council.
