2014 Senate Bill 815

Mandate donor disclosure for certain political “issue ad” organizations

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 25, 2014

Introduced by Sen. Steve Bieda (D-9)

To extend state campaign finance mandates to “527 organizations,” which are entities that do not “expressly advocate” for the election or defeat of candidates or initiatives. The bill would require these entities make public the names of their donors if a director, officer, or board member is employed by or “serves as an agent” to a candidate for office.
