Ban release of advanced utility meter customer info

To prohibit utilities from selling, sharing or disclosing a residential customer’s energy use data, and require advanced utility meters that communicate by wireless networking technology to be encrypted so data cannot be intercepted. The bill would also prohibit a utility from using advanced meter data to communicate a residential customer's name, social security number, address, or other identifying information.
