Introduced by Sen. Alan Sanborn (R) on December 18, 2009, to allow (but not require) the state civil service commission to let local governments “buy in” to the health insurance coverage that the state provides to state employees.

The Mackinac Center's synopsis of this legislation says it requires employees to pay 20 percent of the premium (15 percent if they have a health savings account).

The actual language of the bill includes no so such provision(s).
