Introduced by Rep. Lee Gonzales (D) on September 17, 2009, to impose a “low carbon fuel” mandate that requires producers to meet the “maximum technologically feasible and cost effective greenhouse gas emissions reductions,” and reduce the aggregate “carbon intensity” of motor vehicle and other fuels by at least 10 percent by 2020. The bill would impose a “cap and trade” type scheme in which refiners whose fuels do not meet the mandated standard would have to pay ones that did meet it.

Please send the likes of Rep. Lee Gonzales (D) to the ends of the earth with their social engineering "Cap and Trade" theories. The cost of this would be laid on all of the consumers in higher costs and the loss of more jobs.

Carbon cap and trade is just another tax which will not solve global warming. You don't play with the power to raise taxes when there is a serious crisis. If the powers that be really believe that global warming is the threat that some scientists claim it to be, and a man made one at that, then we would be building nuclear power plants everywhere as fast as possible. But we are not doing that. We shy away from nuclear power and instead we play with windmills and taxes. So how can we be expected to take the doomsday claims seriously?
