Expand open records law to legislature

To give the Legislative Council appointed by House and Senate majority and minority leaders the authority to carry out the duty of responding to denials of a Freedom of Information Act records request by the open records law coordinators designated by the House or Senate. Under House Bill 4155 the council’s authority in cases of an improper denial would be limited to recommending the House or Senate discipline their leaders.
