2015 House Bill 4341

Impose graduated income tax

Introduced in the House

March 12, 2015

Introduced by Rep. Jim Townsend (D-26)

To impose a graduated income tax ranging from 3 percent on the first $20,000 of income ($40,000 for a joint return) to 10 percent on annual income above $1 million. This is linked to House Joint Resolution K, which would repeal Michigan’s constitutional prohibition on imposing a graduated state income tax.
