2012 Senate Bill 1168: Revise rental housing inspection regulations
  1. Introduced by Sen. David Robertson (R) on June 6, 2012, to revise rental housing inspection fees, inspection intervals, landlord registration fees and more. Among other things the bill would authorize local enforcement agencies to charge landlords up to $100 per unit for mandated rental unit registrations.

More intrusive regulation from Republicans. These regulations drive up the cost of rental housing and hurt those least able to afford housing. They also have the effect of protecting large landlords from competition from small investors. Typical regulatory nonsense.
