1) Re: 2012 House Bill 5547 (Eliminate retired legislator pension COLAs ) by waltduro on May 1, 2012Snyder and the Republican Caucus conveniently left this little factoid out of previous conversations and legislation. While snatching money from pensioneers, the working poor, and homeowners, Snyder and Company "proved" they were just like the rest of us by sharing the sacrifice - taxing their own pensions. Lets see how far this bill goes.
4% /year is a pretty healthy increase. Iv'e been retired from a AEP for 16 years and haven't recieved any annual increase. Using the formula legislators grant themselves, my pension should have increased 87% by now.
