2011 Senate Bill 818: Require standardized hazard warning system on public beaches

Introduced by Sen. John Proos, IV (R) on November 10, 2011, to require all public beaches to use a system of green, yellow or red flags to indicate water safety conditions, and post a sign explaining what the flags mean. Red danger flags would be displayed for strong riptide or “undertow” situations, or contaminated water.

This must be a job-creator. Someone will have to go to every beach in the state and post the flag. Would this include the "end of state/county roadway" beaches along the great lakes? How about all the inland lakes' beaches? Yes, Michigan will be back to work!
