2011 Senate Bill 555: Authorize “Trails and Greenways” specialty plate
  1. Introduced by Sen. Goeff Hansen (R) on June 30, 2011, to authorize a “Michigan Trails and Greenways” specialty license plate, and give the money it raises to an organization called the “Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance,” to be used “to develop and promote the establishment of a statewide trail network”.
    • Referred to the Senate Transportation Committee on June 30, 2011.
      • Reported in the Senate on January 25, 2012, with the recommendation that the bill pass.

 Warning to the wise: "Greenway" is often a covert word for "land grab." Think Kelo vs. New London, where private property was nabbed for "the greater good..." ...like a Walmart, or golf course. I'd like to know a lot more about who's behind this alliance.
