- Introduced by Sen. Tupac Hunter (D) on June 15, 2011, to authorize the creation of a “border crossing renaissance zone” in Detroit in which the extensive tax breaks and exemptions of a “renaissance zone” would apply in an area adjacent to a proposed new bridge between Detroit and Windsor (the “Detroit River International Crossing” or “New International Trade Crossing,” a.k.a. “DRIC” or “NITC”).

Especially with bills such as SB451 & HB 4737 granting 'extensive tax breaks & exemptions for renaissance zones' near the area of the new bridge. Those so called tax breaks and exemptions will be taken directly from we taxpayers and given to those renaissance zones! Do you think we are stupid? STOP THE DRIC!!!
