• Introduced by Sen. Virgil Smith, Jr. (D) on March 16, 2011, to prohibit auto insurance companies from owning auto repair shops. The bill also prohibits an auto insurance provider from requiring an insured customer to use a particular shop, or having a “preferred facility” list.
