I agree.  Since when did it become the role of our state government to tax the general population in order to run advertisements on behalf of a specific industry?  Why should tourism get preferential treatment to other industries?  What kind of precedent is this and where does it end?   I neither ask nor want government to do as much for my business thank you.

Why can't the tourism industry pay for their own ads, like every other industry?
