Introduced by Rep. Tom McMillin (R) on March 28, 2011, to create an exception for members of a person’s family to a state law against computer hacking. The bill would exempt going into a spouse’s computer and email from the law unless the spouse has “expressly prohibited” this, nothing is damaged or deleted, etc. The bill would also explicitly authorize accessing the computer of a parent or guardian’s minor child.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee on March 28, 2011.
