Introduced by Rep. Stacy Erwin Oakes (D) on February 1, 2011, to require the Secretary of State to accept a Michigan prison prisoner identification card as one of the identification documents that allows a person to get a state ID card, and give the Secretary of State access to the Department of Corrections prisoner biography database for purposes of making it easier for ex-prisoners to get a state ID card.

In order to reduce voter fraud, the prison should include citizenship designation on their ID. We have a lot of illegal aliens and no doubt green card holders that can use this to obtain a drivers license and altimately a voter registration card.
