Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D) on September 30, 2009, to eliminate the right of a defendant to have a “preliminary examination” for certain less serious criminal offences. Reportedly, most defendants waive their right to a preliminary examination. Specifically, the bill would establish procedures for more streamlined "preliminary examination conferences"..

I thought an american citizen who is indicted, is innocent until proven-thru due process- guilty??

Hey changeagent, don't forget that americans indicted have to be protected from their own ignorance of court procedure, bias court appointed attorney's, not just prosecutors.

How can you eliminate a persons rights so the prosecutor doesn't have to prove that a crime even was committed? That sounds like communism.

Did you know that a judge is only limited to what the prosecutor brings forth to his/her bench?
