I would suggest you mean you don't agree with me, not that I am not on the side of the "people". That would imply that you know what the people want. You know what you want, and certainly can find people to agree with you, but that in no way makes your position representative of the "people" in general. Some of the people, me being one, don't agree with you.

You forgot to mention someone who was in the Governor's mansion for 12 years prior to Granholm, John Engler. I'm not aware that Michael Moore was elected to any political office here in Michigan, and I didn't vote for Miliken, but thought he did a good job as a Republican governor.
