People who want to smoke while eating or after eating can make the choice to stay home and do it, rather than force their exhaled smoke on the general public, and the employees of the restaurant, or they can wait until they go outside.
It is not only rude, but it is endangering the health of the public, to smoke in a bar or restaurant. In order to serve the public, restaurants have to protect them from bad food and drink, they should also protect them from harmful polluntants in the air.

I don't support this bill.
I don't like smoke, I don't like restaurants that are smoky. I'm very able to not go there. People that like or want to smoke, can go do so. If some caveman wants to have a workplace that smells like an ashtray, fine. He might have trouble hiring employees and attracting customers, but that's his problem on his private property.
I don't like smoke, but I dislike intrusive government even more.

I support this bill, and the others that have been proposed advocating a no-smoking policy at workplaces and restaurants and bars. I am encouraged there seems to be a bi-partisan effort to get a non-smoking bill passed. Michigan will be healthier because of these efforts, should they succeed.
