Introduced by Sen. Jud Gilbert (R) on January 27, 2009, to require the Detroit casinos to check a list of delinquent child support cases that the Department of Treasury would have to provide before making any payouts greater than $1,000, and if the gambler has a child support arrearage, to deduct it from those gambling proceeds, and send the money to the department to be forwarded to the child support payee. The bill requires the state to try to make a deal with the Indian casinos to do the same.
Referred to the Senate Families and Human Services Committee on January 27, 2009.
