Don't look for the bill to go away. Our legislators have only 6 years to network and pass bills that will set them up for life as consultants, members of BOD's etc.

Ethanol as motor fuel is one of the great boondoggles of our time.  We taxpayers who subsidize the fiasco get hit in the pocketbook repeatedly, as ethanol production subsidies drive up the cost of our food while our tax pocket is getting picked by farmers, distillers and distributors and fuel costs continue to go up, up, up.  This bill is just another sorry example of it all.

No subsidy for corn ethanol.  Save our treasury for something better like reducing the deficit, and remember it's ours.  Producing and using ethanol puts more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than simply using gasoline alone.  Corn is food.  Common sense suggests that we harvest or mine fuel to produce food, not the other way around.  Stop the madness and let corn ethanol live or die on its own merrits and costs.
