Introduced by Sen. Tupac Hunter (D) on December 10, 2009, to revise the law that authorized local “land bank” authorities with the power to assemble and dispose of abandoned, tax reverted property, so as to authorize an eight-year, 50 percent tax cut for eight years to property acquired from the combined Detroit/Wayne County authority proposed by the package (rather than five years for other authorities), with certain exceptions.
Referred to the Senate Commerce & Tourism Committee on December 10, 2009.
Reported in the Senate on May 27, 2010, with the recommendation that the bill pass.
