George Cushingberry (D) on September 10, 2009, to impose the 6 percent sales tax on food and ingredients sold from vending machines; on magazines; on free meals to restaurant employees; on certain water pollution control facility equipment; and on credit sales by a merchant who ends up never getting paid (bad debts).

Sales taxes are regressive, (the lower incomes pay more than higher incomes). If taxes need to be increased to meet budget needs, after all reasonable cuts have been made in spending, I think an income tax increase is more appropriate.

So now you want to charge sales tax on money we don't collect? Very creative. Why don't you just take over businesses so you can have it all. Oh, that's right, then you would have to work.

What can I say? DEMOCRATS please just wake up and realize that we're already overtaxed on everything. Enough is enough.
