Introduced by Rep. George Cushingberry (D) on August 4, 2009, to establish a fixed, $75 fee for dividing farmland subject to a “development rights agreement” with the state (and associated tax breaks), rather than authorizing a “reasonable” fee as under current law. Note: The smallest parcel allowed from such a split is 40 acres.

So 40 acres is a parcel,what a bunch of nuts that think they own the land by passing a law that a split is 40 acres.

Forty acres in California is a ranch. This is all about screwing the farmer and stopping him from selling his land in small chunks..

I say all you city slickers need to butt out and mind your own bees wax.
