2009 House Bill 5136 (Authorize "inclusionary zoning" mandates )

Introduced by Rep. Coleman Young (D) on June 23, 2009, to give local governments the power to impose "inclusionary zoning,” which allows the government to require developers to construct price-controlled “affordable” dwelling units as a condition of receiving a building permit for units they want to build. As an incentive the local government may (but is not required) to allow greater density than what would otherwise be permitted. It can also require that rent or sale prices on the affordable units be capped.

Geez, what a great idea. Government mandated slums, crappy little houses built on top of each other next to decent subdivisions designed to bring property values down even more! Go Democrats - legislate out lives, our property, our rights oh yeah you're feeling great, socialism and marxism really work.

We want less government, not more. If this is such a great idea why don't you spend your money

to develope such a place let us tell you what you can and cannot charge for your investment???
