• Introduced by Rep. Mark Meadows (D) on June 16, 2009, to prohibit Blue Cross Blue Shield from applying more restrictive conditions on coverage for “biologically based” mental health treatment than those that apply to other health coverage. The bill’s provisions would not apply if BCBS demonstrated after six months that they increased claims costs by more than 1 percent.
