2009 House Bill 5093 (Require school bullying policies )

Introduced by Rep. Rebekah Warren (D) on June 16, 2009, to require schools to adopt a policy prohibiting harassment, intimidation, or bullying; and to require the Department of Education to develop a model policy. The bill also requires schools to train staff in the policy they adopt. The model policy would establish that prohibited harassment, intimidation, or bullying includes a gesture or written, verbal, or physical act that is reasonably perceived as being motivated by religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, height, weight, or socioeconomic status, or by any other distinguishing characteristic.

1. Its a really bad news because it not only creates a fear among other parents but also demoralize children. In this way they even get scared of getting out of the house.And if parents reacts in such a way then racism will never gonna end.

We also want the schools to protect our children while they are in their care. A consistent policy concerning bullying would make that much more likely.
