Introduced by Rep. Kimberly Meltzer (R) on May 6, 2009, to exempt full or part time peace officers, including volunteer or reserve officers, from the state pistol purchase permit law. The individual would still have to file forms detailing the transaction with the local police agency or sheriff.

  - Reported in the House on August 19, 2009, with the recommendation that the substitute (H-3) be adopted and that the bill then pass.

Actually he is right. Lets learn to follow the laws that are laid for all people without special exemption. The rule of law as you should know, assuming you are a learned college cop is the 4th amendment to the constitution. Afterall, its bad enough most gun laws violate the 2nd amendment. And remember, you are not special, unless everyone else is too. Respect, and be respected, words to live by.

WRONG, CCW holders due not need purches permits to buy. They use the CCW itself. Why can't a law enforcement officer who must recieve and complete a much higher standard of training have the same privlage. A badge, college degree, and completion of a police academy are not = to a CCW?

Once again, another bill that turns law enforcement into a special class of citizens with more privledges than the rest of us.
